Below you will find some of my Original Working Drawings for the project. Each drawing is on a sheet of plain 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. Many of the sheets have additional drawings or notes on the verso. The Bottom Row is a set of examples of the American Dance of Death drawing style that will be available on Kickstarter.

I joined the museum because i knew i’d have to see this show over and over again. I can’t get the images out of my head. Please teach some classes in Portland, OR! There are quite a few assemblage artists here who are all talking about your work and would love to take a workshop with you.
This exhibit should be permanently housed in the Smithsonian. All my artist friends who’ve gone to see it say they have to see it again (or have gone again and again)–I don’t know of another exhibit that has fostered such repeat attention. The objects’ multi-layered richness embedded in traditional craft is hurtled into the 21st century by stitching the storyline with digital technology. Wow. Double wow. Holy wow.
WOW- Wow-wow!!! This exhibit really made me weep. So poignant , fragile and other worldly. I really loved it. Had to go get a cup of tea to absorb the power of what I had seen. Thanks for giving me such a rich experience.
I went to the Portland Art Museum this afternoon primarily to see the Rothko exhibit … Wish I had allocated more time, since I never got there–I was COMPLETELY entranced by the Frame exhibit. I’ll be back before it leaves to view it again. Utterly amazing and moving.
